Great Photo Technique

As I think I've mentioned, I really enjoyed the free class from JessicaSprague.com. I enjoyed it so much that I signed up for two more! (Seems I fell into the free class trap!)

Well, in perusing her blog, I found that in the past, she has done Photoshop techniques on Fridays for free! I decided to try this technique Photo Shazam. Wow, did it turn out cool! It is *VERY* easy to do if you have Photoshop or Photoshop Elements. Try it out!

Here's an example: This picture is pretty good....subjects are in focus, etc. BUT....
It turned into this:
Shazam!
Try it out on some of your pictures if you have PS or PSE!

Some more gratuitous cuteness of Mr. Levi:

He's doing well fitting into our family. He has a lot of spunk and just is a very happy puppy! Love him!

The final tally was Bennett - 33 votes, Levi - 35 votes and London - 22 votes.
Thanks for voting!

Celebratory Fruit... A Cake and Heather Bailey

Weird title, I know!

Monday and Tuesday were my
1.) Birthday and
2.) Anniversary
which equals
3.) Complicated gift and celebration planning time for my husband. He always comes through though as you will see in a minute!

We had a GREAT few days, which I'll share more abut in another post. I wanted to highlight just the fruit in this one... ;)

So first, my mom made me this fantastic cake for my birthday. If you remember the cake from last year (2008 cake) you won't be surprised at how cool this cake is. My mom is talented!
The juice is actually colored corn syrup to make it look like juice. Take that Ace of Cakes!

Secondly, this is our second anniversary {cotton anniversary} and I got the sweetest, funnest, most fabulous present from Heather Bailey (and Josh).

He emailed Heather Bailey, looking to find out about signed pin cushions that he saw on the website a while back. He got a very sweet email back from Emily saying that there weren't any more signed pin cushions, but Heather was willing to part with a pear one. (He was inquiring about getting one for my birthday, but gave it to me for an anniversary present instead since it fit so nicely with the cotton anniversary). SO, Heather signed my pear! And it's perfect in the craft room! And my husband is the best! So are Heather and Emily! Thank you so much!

This is what I made Josh by the way. It's his name in nautical flags for his "man room." Cotton anniversary is my specialty (his too apparently)! Next year is leather - oh my!

Life Lessons from Josh

Today I'm beginning a series of posts about lessons you can learn from my husband.

Lesson #1 Multitasking in the car.

MMmmm....Breakfast - some nice, healthy yogurt. But we are running late for church! No worries, you can eat yogurt in the car too. No, not stopped on the side of the road - going 70 miles per hour down the highway!

How do you do it, you ask? It's all in the knee.

Multitasking in the car!

I'm still alive.

Name Me Please!

Our little golden retriever needs a name. Right now he's called Blue puppy because he wears a blue collar. We've picked out three names and we are now putting it up for vote! Help us decide! He's the first born of his siblings and is cutely chubby right now.

Here are the three names:

Bennett
(Overall nice name, protagonist in Pride and Prejudice [last name], cute nickname possibilities)

Levi
(Goes along with the blue theme already in place, Biblical, I can picture a puppy AND an old graying dog named Levi)

London
(Interesting, different, where we took our honeymoon, we both like English history, makes me think of Jack London)

What do you think? Vote over there on the right!

New Bag

I listed a new bag on etsy. I looove Anna Maria Horner's Good Folks line. The colors are so warm and are begging to be sewn! I also dropped the prices on some of my other goods. Thanks for taking a moment to read this advertisement! :D
