Oooh Mexico!

I'll tell you a secret..... last week I was in

I had to get away from this New England winter somehow! We chose by ship, but first we took a loooooooong drive to Florida, stopping first to have a lovely visit with the in-laws.

Our ship is the leeetle one, the Grandeur of the Seas. The larger one is the Independence of the Seas.

Where else but a cruise can you get food like this every morning?Or like this at midnight?

Or where a stranger folds your towels into animal shapes before you go to bed? (That never gets old)

Where you can see blue skies and aqua waters....

Or have your picture taken under a palm tree while you are sleeping?

Or play ping pong over the Gulf of Mexico?

Or spend the week relaxing with your husband?

These pretty flowers cheer up the drab New England winter. A present from my husband for an Irish dance performance.

Of Cookies and Penguins

I swear I didn't do this on purpose, but when I was making cookies on Friday, this sweet treat came out of the oven!

Here are some adorable cookies one of my students made with his mom. He also decorated a cookie for each of his classmates with their names on them. Adorable!

And more adorable is this crocheted penguin. The same student asked his mom to make this for him. He's become a class mascot of sorts. They've named him Phatty P. They don't know that their teacher is Phatty P.'s biggest fan!

Maps

We like to decorate with maps and globes. These are from Target with accessories from Joanns.

Yellow

Yellow is a color I wish I could wear. I just can't. My mom had a yellow dress for me when I was a baby and I couldn't even wear yellow then. I love yellow walls in rooms. I love yellow flowers.

I can make yellow bags though. Even though it's not for me. It's for a friend who can and does wear yellow. Hope she likes it!

This is a new smaller design I'm trying. It definitely isn't perfect, but a few more and I'll get the design down. Maybe I'll try and share the pattern.
